This kid here, if size were the determining factor, has no business playing where 6A Bryan Station has him deployed. Yet, here he is statistically among the most productive linebackers in the entire commonwealth. Kids with the talent to overcome their frames and put their teams in position to succeed should be celebrated. Congratulations to Amodeus Taylor from Lexington’s Bryan Station High School and join us again next week as we celebrate another one-of-a-kind performer. HB.

Nobody has demonstrated a better eye for talent than the staff down at the Appalachia Prep Combine. So we thought it would be fun, as the APC was this last weekend, to let the Director of the APC, JT Powell, pick this year’s winner. Well he has chosen. Enjoy the feature and join us again next week when we adorn a new winner. HB.

His is one of the most recognized names in Kentucky football. Largely because his dad, Chad Pennington, who is also the head football coach of the Sayre’s program, played 10-years in the NFL, was a Heisman Trophy finalist for Marshall’s Thundering Herd, and was drafted 18th-overall, as the first QB in the 2000 NFL draft. However, his son’s ability to play the same position is drawing quite a few apt comparisons. Enjoy this look at a feature about the son and not the dad and join us again next week as we feature another outstanding candidate. HB.

If winning co-Mr. Football from the Associated Press isn’t worth this award and the prizes which come along with it, then what does one possibly have to do? All kidding aside, we have already awarded this distinction to Cameron Hergott so it is only fair Jager should get a T-shirt and some delicious beef jerky too. Enjoy this feature from our friends at the Mingua Beef Jerky Company. HB.

Here’s a guy who is a star in the ’21 class but who is young enough to stay back and reclassify as a ’22 player. There is at least one college football program we have consulted who would like to see him reclassify and would like to take a run at him should he decide to do so. This guy has D-1 skills. He has an ample frame. He has a huge brain. There are lots of possibilities for Butler on the next level. Enjoy this look at this week’s “Protein-packed Performer,” Hart County’s Dustin Butler. HB.

Again with the big guys? What can we say, these big boys are hungry all the time. We promise we will get to some skills as we go along toward the opening of the football season in the Fall of ’21. While recognizing the bigs however, how about this big boy right here? He’s Andrew Hardwick and may be among the best linemen in Kentucky’s class of ’23. Enjoy the feature and join us next week as we award this to another worthy recipient. HB.

Mingua Beef Jerky tagged us a video of Brayden Reynolds bench pressing 420-pounds. Man, is that powerful for a kid who weighs 226, or for any kid. We were so impressed we decided to “research” him and discover what kind of football player he is. We learned he is really something. Enjoy this look at this week’s “Protein-packed Performer” and enjoy the highlights and the video of his incredible bench and see why he was a No-doubter for this award. Join us next week as we award this to another outstanding recipient. HB.

Max Gibbs is a 10th-grade, rising Junior, dual-threat QB who has hit the national circuit and has really impressed. He attended the most recent QB Hit List combine and has come away with both a national ranking at his position and a star-rating. We would call that a pretty good week at Mingua Beef Jerky and we are sure you would readily agree. Enjoy this look at this week’s “Protein-packed Performer of the Week” and join us next week as we recognize another worthy recipient. HB.

If you have been reading our weekly “Outstanding Performances…” articles, the series of articles should have impressed upon you how very difficult winning this award really is. We had another spectacular week where there were numerous performances any one of which would have been a fine performance to single-out. There are weeks where picking just one seems impossible. This was one of those weeks. We have settled on one, however, and we believe you will see exactly why. Enjoy the article and join us next week as we honor another worthy recipient. HB.

Talk about your protein-packed performers, this 6-4, 285-pound TE/DE for Anderson County is roundly considered the best player at his defensive position in Kentucky High School Football. He had an incredible performance against Harrison County, albeit in a losing effort. Enjoy the article and join us next week as we honor another worthy recipient.
