Here is something right amazing, almost exactly a year ago, December 29, 2019 to be exact, we featured then 8th-grade All American Jak Lindsey from Owensboro MIddle School. Well, a lot has happed since last year, like his starting in the 5A championship game for Owensboro High School as only a 9th-grader (man, we called this one) but he is still a super-star player, nonetheless. This has been one of 2021’s very best football players since his staring for Team Kentucky back in Middle-School. Well, guess what? He still is among 2021’s very best football players who would have numerous offers right now were there any Junior film to be evaluated on this guy. Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A and yesterday we projected Class 4A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 5A and we will complete the series tomorrow with Class 6A!

In all of the excitement over the Kentucky-Tennessee Future Stars classic this weekend, we almost forgot we have a Kentuckian on the US National Select team playing in Canton, Ohio for Team USA. His name is Sahvon Hines and he is from Owensboro, Kentucky. Sahvon will be a 9th grader this coming Fall at Owensboro Senior High School. Congratulations to Hines for representing his country well and for being selected our player of the week for the fastest growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky, Independence Bank.
