I remember a mother telling me when I was coaching that her son was a varsity football player. I told her, “Well Ma’am, he’s playing in a JV game in about a half-hour. If he’s a varsity guy he should stick out like a sore thumb in this JV game.” That is as fair of an indicator as I know. Well, I watched Pavey’s JV film and it appeared obvious to me Pavey is a varsity player. We believe he will show all of us this coming Fall. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Northern Kentucky high school football fans are always complaining the area is ignored by media members from the other regions of the commonwealth. Well we can’t speak for other media members. However, we can tell you we have before taken great pains to cover players and teams from the region and will continue. Here is a kid coming on his senior year who will have to shoulder plenty of burden with the expected graduation losses the Mustangs are experiencing here in just a few days. Enjoy this look at a real weapon for Brossart coming back for one last tour around the region. HB.

The mascot for Simon Kenton’s athletic teams are “The Pioneers.” The man for whom the high school has been named was a legendary frontiersman in Ohio and the Midwest. The rising senior to be, ’23’s Josh Bowling, is getting fairly legendary in his own right. Enjoy this feature on one of Northern Kentucky’s more talked about and recruited 2nd level defenders. HB.
