Slow Motion Replay: Bob Redman, Renaissance Man @ItsChris_Redman, @OwensboroSports, @bigassfans, @minguabeefjerky, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @MaleBulldogs

Bob Redman was a true Renaissance Man in that he was able to do a variety of things while doing them all very well. Redman was among the greatest high school football coaches the Louisville area has ever known and managed to beat both St. Xavier and Trinity more than any other Louisville area coach in spite of coaching a team in one of those powerhouses’s districts in 30 of his 35-years. Redman averaged over 9-wins a season for 35-seasons. Playing against the best and most talented rosters the commonwealth of Kentucky had to offer, that is really something quite remarkable. Slow Motion Replay: The Great Danny Sundberg, the pride of Waggener High @WHS_Wildcats_FB, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @HopHighTigers, @SenecaHSFB

His matriculation to UK was ill-timed. When the great Danny Sundberg, the pride of Waggener High arrived on the Wildcat campus, reporting for football camp, the Big Blue had just hired a Bear Bryant assistant named, Charlie Bradshaw. Needless to say, it didn’t go well. Thereafter, Sundberg and several of his Wildcat mates transferred to WKU where Sundberg would earn three varsity letters (1963-65) as a fullback. When you look into the soulful eyes of the man, you see the pain from some hard living welled up inside. You see something else too. You see contentment, you see pride, and you see a guy who has been a hero to so many through the years, this author included. Take a bow, Danny Sundberg. You have earned it.

Friday Night Fletch.

You know the toast, “Here’s mud in your eye” takes on a different connotation completely when you add a “d” to the end of “mud” and capitalize the “M.” Big John Mudd, ranked the 20th best OL in all of Kentucky and 9th best in the Class of 2021, gets in a lot of eyes and it is none too pleasant we hear. This is a guy whose move to the interior OL could net him tremendous benefit owing to his present frame. However, his present frame may not be where he frames out ultimately. Enjoy this article about a kid who has worked himself into a major college prospect.

November 25, 2017 Fletcher Long 4

We can’t publish the two-classes of All-State Offensive Linemen selections together. We would like to, but attempting to feature 11 or so linemen in one article might be more than a reader could digest in one sitting. Therefore, after mentioning this to the Director of the Selection Committee, he has […]
