We have been featuring versatility going on a few years now. It is also time to step away from the seniors graduating this semester and focus on the younger talent coming down the pipeline. Today, we focus on one of the mountain’s better ‘27s in Letcher County’s Mason Stephens. Stephens is a WR/defensive back third guy who figures to continue to play, more and more this coming season, split out wide on offense. Enjoy this feature.

Isaiah Kiser from Letcher County Central may prove quite the addition to the varsity roster in the Fall @IsaiahKiser1199, @Chris_Sailer, @Prokickercom, @KohlsKicking, @LCC_Football, @LCCougarSports, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball

Quality programs don’t skimp on any of football’s three phases. You will find that is true of most of your “Big Time,” “Big Boy,” KHSAA football programs. That certainly explains Isaiah Kiser (’30). Kiser is a rising 9th-grade place-kicker who was sending kicks into the end zone and over the head of the deep man on the opponent’s kick return team as an eighth grader. That is called having a lithe leg. Kiser is a soccer player in addition to football. Kiser is a multi-faceted talent who makes a difference on a football team not always noticed by the casual fan. We are a long way from either casual or just a fan of KHSAA football. Enjoy the feature.

There were counties in Tennessee where winning a criminal defense case as an attorney was next to impossible. There were counties where the defendant enjoyed a perceived advantage over the government as the constitution intended. The difference between a sway back mule and a thoroughbred was “geography” in most instances. The same may be said about football. There are places where you get good talent and you routinely contend. Then there are places where exceeding .500 is near miraculous. Homer Niece coached at such a place and his efforts there, over a 27-year span, put him in the Hall of Fame and rightfully. Enjoy the feature.

We highlight two from each class, or more,… We are coming down to the end of the regular season and teams are jockeying for playoff position, and for some, inclusion. Our very own “Friday Night Fletch,” the resident middle and high school football expert in Kentucky breaks down the compelling […]

Isaac “Wheels” Turner from @bchsbaby is the @minguabeefjerky ‘Protein-packed Performer of the Week.’ @KyHighFootball @1776Bank @MaxPreps @PrepSpin @BreathittCoach

An agent of the magazine was at this scrimmage which was “Meet the Cougars” night at Letcher Central. The Cougars got to meet one of Breathitt’s more potent offensive weapons for the ’21 season in Isaac “Wheels” Turner. Turner was scintillating in this scrimmage and gave a foreshadowing of what kind of threat he poses opposing defenses on the schedule in ’21. Enjoy this feature and join us next week as this gets awarded to another fine recipient. HB.

Featured Matchup (9-11-2020): @LeslieCountyHS at @clay_co_fb. @KyHighFootball @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank

These same teams played early in 2019 in Hyden, Kentucky. Clay County won that game by 17-points. Fans can’t act like high school teams are the same year in and year out. There is something called “graduation” which plays a big part in any high school team’s fortunes. Who will win this year’s game to be played the 11th in Manchester? Glad you asked, we broke down for you in this article? Enjoy! HB.

KPGFootball’s Weekly Winners (08.31.2018)

August 29, 2018 Fletcher Long 0

Well, last week KPGFootball picked 17 football games and went 15-2. Not too shabby even if it is we saying so. We had enough fun doing that we decided we would go another round and, this time, we are picking 20 games. For some of these matchups we might make […]
