Josh Johnson has long been among our favorite players in Kentucky’s ’23 class. He is a bull in a china shop type interior wrecking ball athletic enough to play from tackle out to end for the Crimsons who are being widely discovered as among Kentucky’s very finest football teams at any classification of play. Enjoy this look at a guy every defense in Kentucky would relish having deployed along the down defensive front. Get on by one of our fine branches today and discover why Independence Bank’s people, products, and services have started a revolution in the Kentucky financial services industry. HB.

The Freshmen All-State Defenders…

January 20, 2020 Henry Lyon 1

Here are the KPGFootball Freshman All-State defenders. Certain people at places like Daviess County think it our responsibility to watch highlights of each freshman playing football across Kentucky and select the team from there. It is not. It is the responsibility of our subscribers, who pay for this right, to nominate worthy players who we review after that process is done. If a really good freshman is missed here it is because he wasn’t nominated. If you would like to apportion blame for that, are you a subscriber to this site? Did you nominate the freshman whose omission you find to be error?

Coach Lyon’s Class 6A preseason top-10 football poll…

July 29, 2019 Fletcher Long 2

Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, the day we were called seemed like as good a day as any to continue that tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A, then 2A, then 3A, then 4A, and yesterday we projected Class 5A. Today we give you our projections for the largest Kentucky classification, Kentucky Class 6A. We have now completed this series and hope this has peaked your interest in something we love around here with all our hearts…Kentucky High School football. Have a great season, everyone of you. We can’t wait to both watch and report on it.

Part two of the Class of 2023, Kentucky’s “Freshman Fifteen…”

June 26, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

This is part two of a two part series we are calling the “Freshman Fifteen.” These aren’t necessarily the best fifteen football players or prospects in Kentucky but they are fifteen players we believe most likely to play before the 2019 season is over in the varsity lineup. Some will play because the team has specific need where they are slotted and some will play because they are just that good. We published the first 8 players in this series yesterday and have now finished up with the other seven. Enjoy part two of the two part series we entitled “The Freshman Fifteen.” HB.

Now, this is the first time we have done a middle school, All-State, Football team, but it isn’t our first All-State Football team. For those of you who subscribe and belong to KPGFootball, you know we also publish both a Freshman and Sophomore All-State football team for the high-schoolers. In […]

For the Class of 2023, The Next Ten…

August 2, 2018 Fletcher Long 0

Yesterday’s ranking of the top 10 in Kentucky’s Class of 2023 caused exactly what it was supposed to initiate. It resulted in a firestorm of good-natured debate and a lot of Well, what about __________? That is to be expected and we were pleased with the net result. Stimulating discussion about […]
