It is that time of year. We will be breaking the Big Ass Fans All-State Football team in segments. Today will be the small school all-state offense, tomorrow will be the defense; then we will follow suit for the large schools (4A, 5A, & 6A) Hold on tight folks, this will probably be a bumpy ride.

Brady Atwell is firmly in the hunt for Kentucky’s “Mr. Football.” His uncle won the distinction in 1999 and playing at a level (Class A) which hasn’t boaster too many winners. Brady has a tough road to haul with Beechwood coming to Lexington seeking the same distinction as the Catholic club. It is getting time to vote for “Mr. Football” around Kentucky. There are plenty of candidates this year who have taken their teams to unimaginable heights. One candidate who shouldn’t be discounted nor overlooked is Union County’s Jarren Johnson. This guy here has had a “Mr. Football-type” season for the very reasons we discuss herein. Morganfield, KY is a tough place to play. The Storm will be invading Union County with the Braves off to a poor start (2-2) by their standards. However, as the Fort Campbell Falcons showed the KHSAA last week, either team could emerge victorious from this encounter. Let’s hope it is we!

Well, it is time for us to pick the 3A classification and how it will “shake out” this coming Fall. We could take the coward’s way out and pick last year’s champion, Christian Academy-Louisville, to repeat. Instead, we took the coward’s way out and picked eight-time title holder, Belfry. Enjoy. Jarrren Johnson has been lighting it up for the Union County Braves. The Junior dual-threat QB has proven more dangerous with his feet than his arm but his team is 7-0 and will be favored in its remaining three games so just keep doing what you’ve been doing playa! Enjoy the feature. FL.
After last night’s 22-point loss to Union County, the remaining five games are games the Storm is capable of winning. It will take a Herculean effort to run the table (5-0) but we have the talent and ability to do just that. A 7-3 finish would put us in the number 2 slot in district 1 and assure us a couple home playoff games. This may be shaping up to be quite the year. FL.
Tough one coming up this Friday Night! Union County rolls into town 4-0 and poised to take the 1st-District, 3A, crown. Still, the Storm has a real opportunity here. We discuss it herein. Enjoy the feature
