This is part three of our three-part series “Wandering through the wasteland…” Today we predict the district winners in Classes 2 and 1A. This concludes our series. I would mention Fletcher Long, formerly a writer here at KPGFootball and now working for Bluegrass Sports Nation called and said some coaches have taken strenuous exception to this analysis. To those offended, I am saddened you take offense. Still, we strive to be true to our craft and our opinion is just that…ours.

Garrard County’s Hayes Preston, Class of 2025, proof of Team Kentucky’s fallibility

Hayes Preston didn’t make the Team Kentucky Future Stars-6th grade team but was an alternate. We know what Hayes can do and we still believe him to be among the very best football players in Kentucky in his graduating class. We can say this because look at everything else he has done. Not everyone in football thrives in shorts and shirts running around cones. Some people need to pad-up and thud-up for the evaluator to get a complete and accurate look at what the kid can do as a football player. We think our buddy, Ricco Hughes, missed one here. We miss on far more guys than he does. Nobody’s perfect, though he is pretty close.

Will Charles (CA) Collins, RB, Class of 2020, be coming around full-circle?

It is getting time for many of us to start picking how we think the teams both in our area and in our classifications will do in 2019. Dead Period starts Monday and expires Midnight, July 7th. From then on, it is the down-hill journey to the opener. If you are going to speak with any kind of authority on how the season will shake out in 2019, this is information you have to have. This information changes the landscape in both Class 5A and in Class 2A. This type information is for the benefit of our customers only. You have to belong to this site to know this type stuff. #ThisIsYUBelong!

For Class of 2021’s Jagger Gillis, the time is now…

There is a lot of excitement around Bearcat Football and the Anderson County, Kentucky community. Why shouldn’t there be? They have probably the biggest transfer in Kentucky football in Charles Collins, who last year lead Class 5A, Montgomery County, by rushing for 2004 yards in 13 games on 194 carries while scoring […]

Montgomery County’s Charles Collins, Class of 2020

I believe running back Charles Collins is one of the best arguments for the necessity of Kentucky Prep Gridiron I have ever been able to make. Collins plays for the Montgomery County Indians who are a district 6 football team in Kentucky’s 5A Classification. Collins had pretty good year last […]
