Zane Cook reminds us of an interior OL who doubled along the defensive front and has played defensively in college at prestigious Centre College. We are talking of the two-way, All-Stater, William Long formerly from Breathitt, which was also a 2A ball club. Cook’s QB from last season, Zane Cartwright has just inked with the Colonels. Everyone is aware of the recruiting profiles of both Calil McNary and Logan Rogers. They are on everyone’s board, particularly in the area. Several small colleges had big, big days on the first Wednesday in February. For instance, Georgetown and UPike both signed tremendous, Kentucky-laden classes. However, none of the small colleges around Kentucky have the nationwide reach and appeal of Centre College. The Centre Colonels raised its record to 3-1 with a road loss to a very good Trine team its only blemish. Still, proponents of offensive football have to be concerned with how Centre is performing as the team just keeps imploding offensively. Spencer Bennington is a player one doesn’t see every day around Kentucky High School football. He’s a coveted TE prospect, who doubles at the 4A level very credibly at safety, and who sports a 3.6 GPA at one of Kentucky’s foremost private schools.
