This week’s “Revolutionary Player of the Week” is Andrew Lanz (2023), one of Kentucky’s top place-kickers in the high school game. We pride ourselves on performance and, to render an exceptional performance, no one knows better than Independence Bank that competitors have to fuss over both the important things, obvious to everybody, and the less obvious things most casual fans overlook. That is how competitors become champions. Saturday, two teams with strong Independence Bank branches (Bowling Green and Owensboro) will battle for the 5A crown. Go on by one of those branches in either town and see our friends at your local Independence Bank. Thank them, not just for this series, but for the outstanding service and products which have started a revolution in the banking industry. Enjoy the article. HB.

This week’s “Revolutionary Player of the Week” is a top-flight, 2022 DE playing for Bowling Green (Senior) High School. His name is Bridger Knee and, if his name sounds familiar it should, we have featured him several times. He will have a very big year in Class 5A, District 2, if he builds on what he did over his sophomore season. This feature is brought to you weekly by the folks over at Independence Bank. The Weekend’s BIGGEST upset! Week “zero” in the books (Featured Photo: Bac Totrong/Daily News)!

Well, week “zero” is in the books and old Coach Lyon was 63-50 this weekend. That wouldn’t be too bad if we were a major league baseball team but we aren’t accustomed to a win percentage south of 60% around KPGFootball. I literally can feel Fletcher Long out there smirking (He won with much more frequency last season). Anyway, it would help Coach’s win percentage considerably if defending State Champions could manage to beat 2-win teams from 2018 at home, where they had thrashed them last year on the road. It would also be nice if 2-win teams from Nashville, Tennessee could come up the road 50 minutes and not beat Class 5A contenders. Oh well, lots of things would be nice, I suppose. Enjoy the article more than I am enjoying my crow.

Bowling Green’s Bridger Knee (Class of 2022, @bridger_knee) getting ready to tear it up…

There are predictions of which you are so sure you want to remind everyone of what you before said just so they won’t forget where they first heard it. In January of 2019, we predicted Bridger Knee would be a day one, snap one defensive, down-lineman starter for the Purples in 2019. On the brink of kickoff, we thought we would remind everyone what we said in January. That’s how confident we are in our being right (and first). Enjoy this look at Old No. 59, Bridger Knee, Class of 2022. Featured photograph lifted from Bridger Knee’s Twitter page (@bridger_knee).
