It is getting time for many of us to start picking how we think the teams both in our area and in our classifications will do in 2019. Dead Period starts Monday and expires Midnight, July 7th. From then on, it is the down-hill journey to the opener. If you are going to speak with any kind of authority on how the season will shake out in 2019, this is information you have to have. It is STUDENT-athlete, not student-ATHLETE; the migration toward elite academics over the football factory

June 20, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

This may be the most important article we have published. There is a trend taking over the commonwealth of Kentucky and we love it. The trend, committing to elite academic institutions over waiting on D-1s to come-off with an offer, appears to be spreading and thank the good Lord for that. Look people, it is STUDENT-athlete and not student-ATHLETE. Let’s be smart out there and use our athletic talents to set us up with academic opportunities which set us up for rewarding, fulfilling, and comfortable lives.

Has RB, Adam “PacMan” Taylor Jr. become Kentucky’s top prospect in the Class of 2025?

June 19, 2019 Henry Lyon 3

We have this strange feeling we will write lots of articles featuring Adam “PacMan” Taylor, Jr. from Louisville before everything is said and done for him in his football career. He was a thrill a minute in Kentucky’s win over Tennessee in the Future Stars Classic and has made himself the early favorite for top player in his graduating class, commonwealth-wide. Did @Southwestern_FB’s Braiden Myers come out of the Kentucky-Tennessee Future Stars Classic 2023’s top-rated offensive center?

June 18, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

There wasn’t much about Kentucky’s offensive performance versus Tennessee in the Future Stars Classic which we didn’t find…offensive, frankly. If there was a bright spot it was the play of Braden Myers from Pulaski County, Kentucky. Myers snap arrived on a pulse beat all afternoon, every single time, exactly where you would want it. He manned the A-gap, a hot bed of activity along any front so well you forgot he was out there and he showed great mobility moving down to the second level to pick up big blocks for Kentucky there. This kid firmly established that the formerly two man race for the class’s top offensive center between Bracken Castle and Matt Alex Ladd is now firmly a three man race and there may be a new leader in the clubhouse. Enjoy the article.

Joshuah Keith belongs to all of us after today…

June 15, 2019 Henry Lyon 1

There are times where the words escape even us. We saw a legendary, star performance worthy of mythology out of Kentucky’s 7th grade QB in the Kentucky-Tennessee Future Stars Classic. It left us speechless and that isn’t good because it is our responsibility to tell all of you about it. This is the best we could do, hope it is enough. Enjoy the article as we do the best we are capable to describe the indescribable.

Get them on the run, men, and go, go, go!

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in [Kentucky] now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us [today against Tennessee]. William Shakespeare, Henry V, Act IV.

June 14, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

In keeping with our Future Stars theme, we decided to feature a member of the Tennessee Future Stars staff. Coach Glen Campbell is considered a QB guru and his charges will be on full display this weekend at Fortera Stadium battling Kentucky. Coach Campbell is fresh off a battle of his own with bone-marrow cancer which he appears to have licked. Yeah, that’s the Glen Campbell we know. Congratulations to Glen for being this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Coach of the Week. Join us next week as we reward another worthy recipient brought to you by your locally owned, hometown Stewart Williams Company.
