@lcummingsjr (Larry Cummings Jr.) from @BallardFball is the Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player whose performance exceeded expectations in 2019 and who will be vitally important to the Bruins’ success in 2020. Today, we are focusing on Class of 2021, QB, Larry Cummings, Jr. from Louisville’s Ballard High School.

Cumming’s Ballard High School is located right down the road from an Independence Bank branch located at 3901 Shelbyville Road. Get on by and visit the most rapidly growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky, Independence Bank. Independence Bank has started a revolution in the banking industry.

Larry Cummings, Jr.

Larry Cummings Jr. may only be 5-10, as he is listed on the roster, but as the picture we lifted from off of his Twitter page would indicate, this guy ain’t hook-sliding. Larry Cummings, Jr. isn’t just built like a linebacker, he plays QB like he’s a linebacker.

Ballard has one of the more talented rosters in Kentucky and the team is considered one of the most dangerous to play in all of the Commonwealth. Frankly, if they played in any other classification and district, we probably would be extolling their seasonal records and touting them as perennial contenders for the Kentucky crown.

Such is the common lament of all members of 6A, District 5. Oh well, one is assigned where one is assigned. Still, the Bruins regular make the playoffs and have the talent to beat anyone, anywhere.

Cummings, a former starting QB for Team Kentucky Future Stars, is an intriguing Class of 2021 prospect, led Ballard in passing yards in 2019, accounted for 70% of the team’s TDs passing, and was the team’s 4th leading rusher though starting at QB. The fact he starts at QB on one of Kentucky’s best-stocked rosters says a whole lot.

We don’t know what to expect out of the Bruins most weeks. Will we see the team which almost beat 6A powerhouse North Hardin (lost 10-6), the team which beat Christian Academy-Louisville 40-37 in overtime, or the team which lost to Male 41-14 and Trinity twice, the first time 45-7 and 42-12 in the KHSAA’s 2nd round. We just don’t know the answer to that.

We know this, however; if Larry Cummings, Jr. improves as much for his senior season as he did between his sophomore and junior years then we are going to see another Bruin squad which is able to beat anyone, at anytime. If the stars correctly align, and some breaks fall their way…well, the tank of a QB who can will be right there to capitalize.

Congratulations to Larry Cummings, Jr., both for his Revolutionary Play in 2019 and that which is to come in 2020, all of which has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, your friends at Independence Bank.
