Ethan Spencer is a ’25 prospect who is developing into the type OL teams really crave. He played in all 12 of his team’s games a year ago and his offense was very productive, with his line-mates and him paving the way upfront. He doubles as a DT and will probably get some defensive run as he matriculates through HS. However, we see his future being on the OL.

Ethan Spencer has just finished his sophomore season at Meade County. Meade County finished 6-6 this past year, under Coach Larry Moefield, and certainly had their moments in ’22.

The Green Wave dropped an overtime game to Apollo by a single point in Owensboro. Meade also hung around 6A Champion, Buillitt East, a long time before succumbing to the Chargers by 14 points at home.

Needless to say, Moefield seems to have the Green Wave cresting in the proper direction. Front line guys like Spencer can hasten such situations.

Spencer is 6’2,” 275-pounds of “well put together.” We have seen him listed at 6’3″ and every inch will count with a guy who appears destined to play OT in college.

Spencer has really long arms and is a high-waisted kid. The stature would suggest it is still incubating somewhat and is not yet “finished.”

Spencer played in all 12 of the Green Wave’s six (6)-up and six (6)-down campaign. The offense, in which he played an integral role, gained 2,300-yards on the ground, in only 393-carries, and scored 32-rushing TD’s.

The passing game was fairly potent too. The Green Wave threw for over 2,000-yards with 24-TD’s against 11-thrown INT’s. That is a pretty good TD:INT ratio, meaning the big-guys were getting it done in pass-sets and the QB’s didn’t feel too particularly hurried.

Spencer is entering the all-important, junior season with plenty of game experience under his belt. We believe, assuming he keeps working on his craft, this is a young big, in the ’25 class, that is going to have quite a few college coaches asking, “How do I get to Old State Road in Brandenburg, KY?”
