Speaking of someone making a home…

We first wrote about Cameron Swift back in July of 2018. In that article we predicted, based on his performance in 2017, he would be heavily relied on during the 2018 campaign. We were far from wrong.

Swift followed up a 2017 season where he gained 859 yards rushing from scrimmage in 162 carries for a per carry average of 5.3 yards with five games of 100 yards or more over the Indians’ ten contests with 1,222 yards passing, 10 passing TDs against his 8 interceptions. What we couldn’t have foretold, but which turned out to be true is he would probably be the most explosive kick returner in Tennessee high school football. In 2018, Swift returned 29 kick-offs for 1,343 return yards for an average of 46.3 yards each and every time an opponent was foolish enough to kick the football to him.

Swift, who is only 5-8 inches tall, is someone who has proven himself very dangerous with the football in his hands. East Robertson opponents get another dose of him next year too, as Swift is a Class of 2020 prospect.

Congratulations to Cameron Swift for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player or Team of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
