Drew Fleener from Madisonville North-Hopkins is this weeks’ Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week

This week's Independence Bank's Revolutionary Player of the Week is...

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank player of the week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry. Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player whose performance exceeded both the Maroon’s and the Madisonville North-Hopkins community’s expectations. We are focusing on the 5-11, 228 pound, class of 2021 defensive end, Drew Fleener.

Drew Fleener is a guy who played in 6 games as a freshman for North-Hopkins. He registered 6 tackles with 2 of them being solos. That really doesn’t tell the tale for the 5-11, 228 pound DE/OL though does it? I mean, at healthy programs, like Madisonville North Hopkins has, you won’t see freshmen bigs get a lot of varsity run without their being some sort of physical anomaly about the particular freshman. However none of that should be interpreted as the Maroons don’t have big plans for the former Team Kentucky Future Star. I had an opportunity to talk at length with a coach on that staff and they see Fleener cracking the starting lineup before the 2018 season is through. That means Drew is right on track, as big time high school players should start sometime during their sophomore years. I also got the distinct impression they see Drew as a down-four as opposed to a front-five contributor. KPGFootball left impressed it won’t be long before we see Fleener screaming off the end on Friday nights in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Congratulations to Drew Fleener for his Revolutionary Play which has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky…your friends at Independence Bank.
