Davies County’s Blake Baker is this week’s Independence Bank, Revolutionary Player

This Week's Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Bank is...

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank player of the week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry. Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player whose performance exceeded both the Panthers’ and the Davies County community’s expectations. We are focusing on the class of 2019, WR-SS, Blake Baker, from Owensboro, Kentucky right down the road from the 3 Independence Bank branches located on 2425 Frederica Street, 3228 KY-54, and 2465 W Parrish Avenue respectively.

Pretty much every one in the Western Kentucky area knows who Joey Cambron and Marquel Tinsley are. I mean Cambron threw for over 4,000 yards passing and 49 passing TDs ands Tinsley caught 76 passes, last year, for 1,447 yards receiving yards and 22 TD receptions to compose the most lethal aerial combination in Kentucky’s 6A Classification. What I am about to say may shock you, so you might brace yourself. Neither Cambron nor Tinsley may be as complete of football players as Blake Baker. Baker plays on both sides of the ball, WR-SS, and offensively he had 50 receptions for 1,029 yards receiving and caught 15 TDs. Defensively, he tallied 109 tackles, 70 of which were solos, had 5 interceptions, caused a fumble, and recovered three more. Blake Baker is a three-sport star at Davies County High School, playing baseball, basketball, and football and has a registered 4.52 second, 40 yard dash, benches 230 pounds, reps the high school rep weight of 185 pounds five times, and back squats 405 pounds all while weighing just 173 pounds attached to his 5-8 inch frame. On any other team aside from the one on which he happens to play, Blake Baker is a first option, star receiver as opposed to being the other guy who catches Cambron’s football not named Marquel TinsleyWell, today Blake, you’re not the other guy, to Independence Bank and KPGFootball, you’re the guy!

Congratulations to Blake Baker for his Revolutionary Play which has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky…your friends at Independence Bank.
