Once again it is the first of the week, which means it is time to anoint another Independence Bank player of the week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry. Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence and this week we are focusing on a player whose performance exceeded both the Colonels’, and the Henderson community’s, expectations. We are focusing on a RB/FS who seemed to both strive for and achieve excellence every single day he walked on either a practice or playing field. That player is Class of 2018, Food City Border Bowl, shining star, DaDa Simpson.
DaDa Simpson ran all over the Tennessee All-Stars at the Food City Border Bowl this past week-end in Sevierville, Tennessee. He looked like a run away freight train out there. This is in spite of the fact he only gained between 6-700 yards rushing this year for the Colonels of Henderson County, Kentucky from scrimmage. Part of that may be DaDa’s projecting in college to play defense (Safety). DaDa is 6’3″ and weighs 200 pounds, giving him the size and back-end length colleges’ covet at the Safety position. He’s fast too as he has been hand timed at 4.5 seconds over 40 yards. Now DaDa has a back squat of 525 pounds, and power cleans 260, so that would indicate to this analyst the 40 time is dead on accurate. DaDa bench presses nearly 300 pounds, making him among the elite players at his position (on both sides of the football) in Kentucky, in the areas of power, speed, and explosion. I haven’t seen a vertical leap on DaDa but am willing to bet he has plenty of lift. We, here at Kentucky Prep Gridiron are willing to wager his playing days aren’t completed as this is a guy, senior stats rushing from scrimmage be damned, on which we would make an offer provided we had one to give. We also wouldn’t be surprised to see him at RB on the college level either.
Congratulations to DaDa Simpson for his Revolutionary Play which has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky…your friends at Independence Bank. This is Fletcher Long reporting for Kentucky Prep Gridiron reminding you to PLAY THROUGH THE WHISTLE!
