Class of 2022’s Seth Huff can be as good as he wants to work toward being

We have some news to break here which many across Kentucky may find quite significant. This may be widely know around the affected areas but it is something we are just learning.

Seth Huff, who played in 7 varsity games for Middlesboro a year ago as a freshman, relocated to Barboursville, Kentucky and enrolled at Class 4A Knox Central sometime during the previous season as far as we can tell. This is a significant pick-up because not only was he one of the better freshmen in Kentucky a year ago, at least at Middlesboro, but his best football is ahead of him.

We have heard from Seth and he tells us he is 6-0 tall and weighs in at 205 pounds. He is quite the specimen, particularly for a kid entering his sophomore season, and his power numbers support that conclusion.

Huff reports a bench press maximum lift of 285 pounds. Huff also back squats 455 pounds and pulls, or deadlifts, 405.

Huff is listed as a RB/OLB, or that is where he was listed on the Middlesboro roster while there in 2018. We believe he will continue to be an OLB for Knox Central but the Panthers are pretty well manned at the RB slot with two-time KPGFootball All-Stater and Class of 2021’s Ethan Mills.

KPGFootball could see Huff as a Fullback/H-back/TE type offensively for the Panthers giving them a big, battering ball carrier and short passing game option to go with the shifty, speedy, can’t be tackled in a phone booth Mills.

Last season while at Middlesboro, Huff carried it 77 times for 429 yards with 4 rushing TDs. He also had 6 receptions for 56 yards out of the backfield and scored 32 points for second most on the Jackets’ team.

Defensively at OLB, Huff registered 17 tackles with 3 of those stops being behind the line of scrimmage. Huff had a QB sack and recovered a fumble in addition to his other cited defensive statistics.

Seth Huff is a talent and someone who makes a significant addition to any roster. He’s what we call a day-one, snap-one starter at most any high school in which he enrolls in the commonwealth of Kentucky.

We are hopeful Huff can get focused in on the rigors of both training and playing high school football now he is at a premier and well staffed football program. We are likewise hopeful football can divert Huff’s attentions away from some of the off the field distractions which sometimes befall young players.

If that happens, Seth Huff has the physical tools and skills to be a special player. If that happens, we can assure you this won’t be the last time you hear of him.
