This week we salute a 2021 WR/DB who has been one of Clarksville’s most dynamic and versatile athletes for a few years. There is a video of the kid vertically jumping out of a swimming pool and onto the outer deck landing squarely on his feet. Next time you are in a swimming pool, try that…better yet, don’t hurt yourself. His ability to jump out of water onto a deck which roughly comes to his chest is a demonstration of just incredible vertical explosion which correlates with having speed. Michael is an accomplished athlete in more than one sport as he is considered one of the top area high school basketball prospects in addition to the regard in which he is held as a football player. Michael is an accomplished dunker in basketball in spite of his only being 5-9. Again, vertical explosion = speed, for the mathematically inclined. Michael got a lot of varsity run this past season for the class 5A Wildcats of Clarksville High School and figures prominently in Coach Shelby’s plans going forward I would surmise. I haven’t discussed this with Coach Shelby; however, how does one not play an athlete who can accomplish the incredible physical feats regularly accomplished by Michael Kennedy?
