Storm Warning: Rockets landing in Morton’s Gap, Friday Night; Storm has reason for optimism

September 12, 2024 Fletcher Long 0

The Storm have a winnable game coming to the Gap but there are no off weeks for this particular edition of Hopkins County Central’s football program. Crittenden County is among the tougher customers in the 2A classification on this end of Kentucky generally and the Storm will be playing a team in as bad of a need of a “W” as are they. We will break down this matchup and some of the personnel which will factor into the outcome. Enjoy the feature.

Kentucky’s top OG (Bo Wolford) and one of the best teams in 3A (Belfry) braces for tough road trip to even its record @wolford_bo @BelfryFootball1 @minguabeefjerky @840WHAS @sfitz_840whas

We believe Bo Wolford from Belfry is the best OG in the KHSAA. We have bad news for the rest of KY, he’s a ’26 so he’ll be back another year. Bo is 6’3,” and has slimmed to 285-pounds. He bench presses 345, squats 525, and carries a 4.0 GPA. He’s an FBU Adidas All-American. Enjoy the feature.

The Russell County Lakers would relate, not all 0-2 records are similarly constructed @LukePopplewell0, @Frenchie564, @kinnett_wills_, @sfitz_840whas, @840WHAS, @KyHighFootball

There are some mighty good football teams standing at 0-2 around the commonwealth of Kentucky. Largely, it all depends on whom you have played. For instance, Central High (Lou.), Pikeville, and Lexington Christian Academy are all 0-2. We promise you, none of the three are “throwing in the towel.” The boys from Russell Springs, Kentucky are in the same class. They are 0-2 but have opened with two mighty tough teams and look to get off that “schneid” this evening, at home, when John Hine’s Cardinals come a’calling. Enjoy the feature.

Storm Warning: Look out North-Hopkins, you may be in for inclement weather

September 5, 2024 Fletcher Long 0

The Storm have a huge mountain to climb Friday night as it travels to Badgett Stadium, cross town, to play a red hot Maroons team from North-Hopkins. North is 2-0 and ranked the 22nd best football team in Kentucky regardless of classification. We’re not sure there has ever been a Maroon’s team more highly regarded. We will break down this matchup and some of the personnel which will factor into the outcome. Enjoy the feature.

Lincoln Acree, from Graves County High, wins a second Protein-packed Performer Award from @minguabeefjerky @Lincoln_Acree @GracieAcree @Jody_Acree @coach_debo @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball

Lincoln Acree won this award this past offseason for an incredible outing at the Rivals camp in Atlanta. Once the season commenced, the stud athlete was up to his old tricks. When you play for Graves County, a win over Mayfield doesn’t happen everyday so it should be celebrated and rewarded.

Mr. B with the fantastic opener, rockets to the top of the linebacker list @PCCHSFootball, @NoahCreigh, @WYMT @KyHighFootball, @sfitz_840whas, @840WHAS, @AlPopsFootball

We called him the best middle school football player in Kentucky last season. If the opener is an indication, we couldn’t have been any more on the money than we were with Bryson “Mr. B.” Johnson. Johnson had 16-tackles, 1.5-TFLs in the opener against a really good Somerset squad. While Perry County Central fans would have much preferred a different outcome, they still were enthused about the play of the young, freshman, LB.
