Breakout Player: @JohnSua78 from @FDouglassFB is poised to move up the rankings. @1776Bank @minguabeefjerky @MaxPreps @PrepSpin @AppalachiaPrep @KyHighFootball

We were working on this feature when one of our sons entered the room. He asked us where Sualla played.

“He’s a DT/NG,” was the answer. “All y’all write about is linemen,” was his response.

We know it may seem that way sometimes. There are several very good reasons for that.

For starters, linemen are virtually uncovered by every single publication pretending to do what we do and cover what we cover. Secondly, the game is won or lost, much of the time, along the scrimmage line.

John Sualla is a perfect example of what makes us the very best in this business. Scour the internet or print media all you want, but you will find this to be the singular article ever written about him.

It isn’t all his fault. He had a tough junior year where he had to deal with wrist injury leaving him sidelined for four (4) entire games. Then there was the heartbreaking loss in the state championship game (5A).

Still, this 6-2, 265-pounder has lots to which to look forward in ’22. He is a big-body kid who moves very well for starters.

Secondly, he scored an invite to the most prestigious combine in the area in the Appalachia Prep Combine (APC) set to come off in Gatlinburg, Tennessee later this summer. We are anxious to see how he performs. We expect he will “show out.”

Should he, Sualla will get recruited. The APC will virtually assure that happening. His being well framed out and plenty athletic won’t hurt.

There is one more thing about Sualla which will insure his being offered by plenty of suitors. How do you like his 4.0 GPA? We love it.

It is easy to forecast this kid is set to have a breakout season in ’22, barring injury. He will shoot up the rankings and some big-time programs will be looking for space on the dance card.
