There are numerous stars ladening the LCA football roster and some “up and comers” of whom you may not even know presently destined to be stars. Still the straw which appears to stir the drink of the ’22 version of the Eagles football team appears to be this Will Nichols kid. There is very little about him online and we had to work hard to bring you this report. We promise you, we dug harder to get this article published than any college coach is going to work to find him or any other “under the radar” player out in the commonwealth. Cortez Stone was the best RB in Kentucky as a freshman among ’25’s in our opinion. He hasn’t slumped any this sophomore season either. In round two he carried his team to a convincing victory. How much farther can he carry the Yellow Jackets? Don’t know, that road through Russellville and Logan County High is a killer. You don’t see a ton of fullbacks anymore. Here is a fullback who runs and hits a ton. He has low pad level and runs with excellent body-lean and purpose. We love his game. We love this position. More teams should get one (in our humble opinion). Enjoy the feature. HB.

Well, the Danville, KY, near-IVY league college with the ancient and prestigious football program has done what it does seemingly every offseason. The Colonels have gained a commitment from arguably the best high school football player in the entire commonwealth. This guy has been wowing fans across the commonwealth since taking home the Championship Game MVP two-years ago. Now he takes his game to a larger stage and to the brighter lights of Andy Frye Stadium.

We have awarded some tremendous jerky products to some outstanding football players since the award’s inception. We have never awarded this prize package to a better football player than Harris Phelps from Paintsville, Kentucky. Playing 1A football kills kids chances of getting recruited at some levels of football and that is senseless. Where a family chooses to live and in what type environment the family chooses to rear a family, be it a small town or large one, has NOTHING to do with what kind of athlete or player the kid develops into being.
