@TOP_SMOKE55 (Davon “Smoke” Rudolph) from @duPontFootball is the @1776Bank ‘Revolutionary Player of the Week.’ @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

“Smoke” is burning up the ladder training this offseason

Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a young player at 6A duPont Manual who hasn’t quite gotten to show what he can do at the varsity level yet, but when he gets that chance in ’21, he plans on “bringing some smoke.” His name is Davon Rudolph and he is considered among the brightest and best in the commonwealth’s class of ’24.

Rudolph’s duPont Manual High School is not too far from the famous St. Matthews Square branch of Independence BankSt. Matthews Square is on 3901 Shelbyville Road in Louisville. Get on by and visit the most rapidly growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky, Independence Bank. Independence Bank has started a revolution in the banking industry.

Davon Rudolph is a 5-11, 175-pound 9th grader who was set to bring some smoke down at the JV/9th-grade levels in ’20. However, the pandemic rampaged Louisville’s public school system as viciously as any across Kentucky. Hard to schedule JV/9th-grade games when your varsity just plays 5.

Smoke here is working on playing with more active hands from his DE slot

Still this is a young man in the ’24 class who is looking to lead, not follow. Davon has been working hard with his offseason group, Silverback Training, in Louisville, Kentucky. He’s also been working hard on his own, posting a video of him already racking 205-pounds on the bench press though only a 9th-grader.

We would recommend he hit those plates and continue to throw some steel around all he can this offseason. Players like “Smoke” will find themselves in the lineup, over the course of their sophomore seasons, sooner rather than later.

Congratulations to Davon “Smoke” Rudolph, for the Revolutionary Play  we know lies ahead for this young man beginning this coming ’21 season. No telling what kind of smoke this kid can bring playing a full schedule of games. We plan to be keeping an eye on him, just to see.

Congratulations to him for all of his efforts which have earned him this recognition. It isn’t every day your efforts net you an award from the fastest growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky, your friends at Independence Bank.
