We have been calling Isaiah Messer Cruz “The Cruz Missile” around our offices. Cruz didn’t come into the year expecting to play QB necessarily but there is no denying he is playing it effectively and well. On a night where Haden Wise gained over 200-yards rushing, scored twice, and led the Falcons to a 44-12 district win over Todd County Central, Cruz, with his 59-yard aerial to Levi Kruse, still found a way to help his team reclaim the lead in a ball game which the Falcons badly needed after having dropped the Army Bowl to Fort Knox a few weeks ago. Cruz was among the offensive leaders for the Falcons football team this past Friday night as he played QB and led the team to its third win of the year. Cruz, who also wrestles, employs skills which lend naturally (and specifically) to playing football. Cruz’s multi-faceted, athletic tool belt makes him more, not less, recruitable to colleges around the commonwealth. Enjoy this feature.
