Sometimes individual performances give rise to promise and expectation for the future even where it came in a blowout victory against a pretty stout opponent. This past weekend the Trigg County Wildcats put it all over Fulton County 41-12 and several Wildcats had really big performances. Coach Curtis Higgins’s ‘Cats improved to 4-6 and are hoping to travel to Owensboro and (perhaps) surprise an Aces team very much considered a “title contender” at the 2A level. Zamarrion Broussard had another strong night and turned in a multi-TD scoring effort. These kids getting all these valuable live game reps will pay off before too much longer and Broussard coming up, big-time, in pivotal moments will too. It just goes to show, one has to be omnipresently prepared, ready. This week our jacket patch goes to the junior WR/DB/Athlete who played his butt off in a pivotal moment, giving his team victory. He has been expected this year to be prepared, to be ready, and to perform and, thus far, he hasn’t disappointed. Enjoy this look at Zamarrion Broussard who is our Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company All-State Player of the Week and another patch-recipient as we brace for the ’26 season’s “second season.”

Joseph Katz, 8th grade phenom on the varsity basketball roster, is the Lasaters Coffee & Tea Feature of the Week @FC_FALCONS_FB, @LasatersCoffee, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

Joseph Katz brings something to the table programs desperately need, particularly programs competing at the 2A classification. Katz has a very versatile skill set with a variety of talents which lend itself well to playing multiple sports. Katz averaged over 6-points and 4-rebounds a game as an eighth grader playing varsity basketball at Fort Campbell High this winter. Basketball employs skills which lend naturally (and specifically) to playing football. Katz’s multi-faceted, athletic tool belt makes him more, not less, recruitable to colleges around the commonwealth. Enjoy this feature.

Storm Warning: Central left reeling from tough home loss but braces for Rebel Horde @LasatersCoffee, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @HopkinsCentral, @_CoachManning

Like we have done in prior seasons, now the games are finally here, we will take the last week’s action and break it down and then look at the road ahead. We had quite the battle with Caldwell at home this past Friday night and the game turned on two fumble recoveries and a KO return for a TD comprising the 11-point difference between the two equally matched teams. What should we expect in Elkton, KY this coming Friday Night? Well, we will break that down for you right here.

Timmy Williams from Trigg County High ready to rebound from injury @TriggFootball, @CoachEzell45, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @KyHighFootball

February 18, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Timmy Williams, a ’28 athlete and quarterback, came out of the middle school ranks among the more ballyhooed prospects the western Kentucky MS ranks could muster. Williams was off to a fast start when he got derailed by injury in the second week. If this guy can stay healthy, he could have a really solid sophomore campaign. So could the Trigg County Wildcats who have stepped down to 2A and will now face Mighty Mayfield on a yearly basis.

Cinderella arrives at the Ball, Fort Campbell upends Madisonville-North Hopkins

September 16, 2024 Fletcher Long 0

It was the singular, most incredible upset in Kentucky HS football since I began covering the topic in April of 2015. If I could have bet my house on North Hopkins winning this game, I would be homeless today. Lots of Cinderellas find themselves at the Ball but very few of them have the wherewithal to actually bag the Prince. Most of the time, the Cinderellas get to the Ball and end up going home with a busboy from the catering company-still not a bad night but not the prize for which you came to the Ball. We will explain that analogy to you in the article. Enjoy the feature. Friday Night Fletch.

Kahmani Bush from Trigg County a versatile athlete looking to land- @Kahmanikhari @CoachEzell45 @TriggFootball @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @840WHAS @KyHighFootball @CentreFootball

Recruiting for the small college programs is far from over at this point. Because of that, we fear there are some programs overlooking some bone fide athletic talent through the commonwealth still on the “available” list. Kahmani Bush would certainly qualify. Here is a chance for a difference making late addition to any program’s recruiting list. You’ll thank me later. Friday Night Fletch.

We enjoy bringing you scouting reports on just whom The Storm is playing each Friday night. This week is a winnable game on the road over a Trigg County team which, much like The Storm, is a much better than its record would suggest. We believe The Storm will emerge victorious, but the game still has to be played. See you guys in Cadiz.

Has Todd County’s new football coach been throwing shade at the last one?

January 31, 2020 Henry Lyon 0

This article is very candid and intended only for our subscribers and people who pay for our candor. If you are a casual football fan, I wouldn’t suggest this site for you. We have several insider sources on the ground in Todd County reporting the new coach is throwing shade at the former one. That is never a good idea if you are going to be in this business. The contents of this article is why that practice is unwise. HB.
