Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry. This week’s recipient is a quarterback who is a coveted and talented backfield star for the Aces from Owensboro Catholic High School. His efforts really made the Aces’ offense roll. Join us next week as we award this to another worthy recipient.

Gough to start against Henderson County

October 29, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Gough is used to doing things well before anyone thinks he can. He started at one of Kentucky’s premier high-school programs as a freshman, he set the school’s single-season tackle mark as a sophomore, he made the AP All-State Football First-Team as a sophomore. The list just never seems to end. When he broke his leg the projections were he would be through for the year. Well, in keeping with Gough tradition, he was cleared to return to action in game 9. This makes him available for the playoffs, rested and full speed. Owensboro, at 8-1, was winning even without its marquee superstar. Imagine what they will do in the playoff run with him. Boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
