Jesse James was sort of the Robin Hood of the American West. It was rumored James robbed the rich to give to the poor. I don’t know if that is what he either did or didn’t do. I can tell you he robbed plenty of trains and banks and that is where the money was in those days. Jaxon James is not an outlaw. He is a Red Devil from Owensboro’s Senior High School. James has been playing in the shadow of one of the KHSAA’s premier RBs, Evan Hampton, committed to play for the University of Louisville next season. We see this with the inordinate amount of former players’ sons and coaches’ sons who go on to star at the various levels of football competition from HS to the NFL. Here is something right amazing, almost exactly a year ago, December 29, 2019 to be exact, we featured then 8th-grade All American Jak Lindsey from Owensboro MIddle School. Well, a lot has happed since last year, like his starting in the 5A championship game for Owensboro High School as only a 9th-grader (man, we called this one) but he is still a super-star player, nonetheless. This has been one of 2021’s very best football players since his staring for Team Kentucky back in Middle-School. Well, guess what? He still is among 2021’s very best football players who would have numerous offers right now were there any Junior film to be evaluated on this guy. He lost almost his entire Junior year to a freak injury. He’s back now and running at 110%. Wait until you see what he does in 2020! We can’t wait to see it! Enjoy the article. HB.

Congratulations to Austin Gough, who plays LB (primarily) for Owensboro Sr. High School, for his revolutionary play on the football field and being forecast preseason to be Class 5A, District 2’s Player of the Year. Coach Lyon’s Class 5A preseason top-10 football poll…

Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A and yesterday we projected Class 4A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 5A and we will complete the series tomorrow with Class 6A!
