Fans don’t pay much attention to offensive linemen. We do at KPGFootball. Matter of fact, Coach Long coached the position when he was in the business and has a keen eye for offensive line play. Nothing takes the place of being stout in the A-Gap. Pressure from there is almost certain to result in an offensive mistake, a turnover, or a play putting the offense in an unfavorable down and distance situation. Garrett Courtney, and offensive centers like him, are of critical importance. Enjoy this feature about a guy pretty darn good at what he is called upon to do.

LCA came out the gate slowly this season. Of course the 2A powerhouse opened with the best high school team in Kentucky (any classification), Boyle County, then followed that up with a six-point loss to an always tough Franklin County (4A). The Eagles are 5-0 since to include wins over the defending 1A champion (Pikeville) and the defending 3A champion (Christian Academy-Louisville). As we come down the regular season homestretch, the Eagles are looking every bit the container we expected to see.

Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) is tracking that title this year in 2A and the Eagles have all the flight power needed to walk off Kroger Field very, very happy. There are numerous stars ladening the LCA football roster and some “up and comers” of whom you may not even know presently destined to be stars. Still the straw which appears to stir the drink of the ’22 version of the Eagles football team appears to be this Will Nichols kid. There is very little about him online and we had to work hard to bring you this report.
