This usually is a pretty fun article. A few days ago we posted the “KPGFootball Scorecard.” On that document we memorialized the matchup and just who we believed would win and why. What we do in the scorecard is give you the solution. What we don’t do is demonstrate how we worked the problem. Thursdays, during the football season, we often publish an article which “shows our math.” If you read this article you will see why we picked the teams we picked to win and why we picked the teams we picked to lose. The season is right around the corner. Therefore, we will take the next six or so days to highlight for your the top teams in each classification of play throughout the KHSAA. Today, with a special thanks to our friends at Big Ass Fans, we look at the 1A classification. Pikeville and Raceland look to be the class of the classification with Holy Cross (Lou.) looking like it may make a tremendous stride over what it turned in last season (5-7). Enjoy this look at 1A.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we present you the Big Ass Fans, Large School, All-State Football Team

December 16, 2025 Fletcher Long 13

We will start out this all-state team with an admonition with which we begin every team we have ever published. We will miss on some guys. It is just important to note that your son not making our team doesn’t mean he wasn’t an all-state caliber player. Also, we expressly reserve the right to re-enter the team, even after it is published, and add worthy players who may have been missed or accidentally omitted. That being said, our small and large school All-State football teams, sponsored by Big Ass Fans, are the most expansive and complete teams in the business. This team here, and the coaches’s team published by the “Courier Journal,” are the only two legitimate teams in existence and we believe our team to be much more complete and legitimate than even theirs. Congratulations to the players who made the team and congratulations to the wonderful world of Kentucky high school football for providing us with the endless thrills and discussions we net from our following this, the greatest game on earth.
