Today we will look at the 2A classification and particularly the two teams (LCA and Beechwood) we expect to principally vie for the title and why. There are good teams interspaced throughout the classification but the two we have focused on here have all the intangibles, particularly tradition, roster talent, and coaching. It is time to break down the 2A classification and eCampus.com is as interested in this class as any other business entity in the commonwealth of KY. We picked LCA a year ago and people thought we were crazy. The Eagles return a ton of production and, all of a sudden, our prognosis doesn’t appear so far fetched. Beechwood welcomes back an all-time coaching legend to its sideline and also returns a strong Mr. Football candidate in Tyler Fryman. Owensboro Catholic, Belfry, and Breathitt all have stars, are very well coached, and figure to make a run. Enjoy this look at the 2A classification as we gear up toward the opener.

Kolin Baker is largely believed to be among the top-five (5) DLs in Kentucky’s ’28 graduating class. This belief persists in spite of his contributing a scant eight (8) tackles and a single TFL over his 14-games of play his sophomore season. Then again, the kid did see PT in 14-games for Kentucky’s foremost high school football program during a season in which the program won its 3rd consecutive, 6A title and 30th title overall; so, there is that! We have before said a college player will find the field in high school sometime during his sophomore season. This 285-pound wrestler certainly found the field as a sophomore in 14 of the team’s 15 games. What his stats either were or weren’t seems rather trite and mundane compared to the amount of PT he got on the KHSAA’s most talented roster, wouldn’t you agree? Enjoy the feature.
