Let me just stop you right there. We used to do a freshman and sophomore all-state football team back years ago. We stopped doing them because so many freshmen and sophomores started earning their way onto our Big Ass Fans Large and Small School All-State teams. We have heard all the “Freshmen don’t play at _________ High,” crap. The fact is, if the freshman is good enough, he will play. There is one thing high school coaches prize over rules and structure…and that is winning. If the freshman helps the program win, he will play. The fact remains more and more freshmen are showing up these days prepared mentally and physically to compete and contribute. Right here, this guy who is today’s feature, Mark Stivers, is a perfect example. Let’s see this season how long he stays on the sideline, regardless of where he plays.

Zai’Vion Meads has been working out with Aspirations Gym this offseason. Aspirations Gym proprietor, Chris Vaughn, has been working out Louisville’s elite athletes for a long time, as long as we have been covering this sport. Vaugh has Meads “looking right.” Meads has exploded the myth the camera adds weight as he looks good live, or on film. Today, we award this prestigious, weekly distinction to one of the Derby City’s better DL prospects playing for one of Louisville’s deeper and most talented rosters. Man Robinson was one of only three ’28’s to make either the small or large school all-state football teams. Well, simply put, this article is a flexing of our scouting muscle. There isn’t a single sports entity, outside of Anderson County, who even knows who this prospect is, much less that he is now prepared to set fire to the KHSAA’s 5th-district in Class 4A. Isaiah Fitzpatrick has grown, added muscle, dropped his 40-time from 4.6 to 4.42, and is ready to use his senior film to get some major attention.
