This usually is a pretty fun article. A few days ago we posted the “KPGFootball Scorecard.” On that document we memorialized the matchup and just who we believed would win and why. What we do in the scorecard is give you the solution. What we don’t do is demonstrate how we worked the problem. Thursdays, during the football season, we often publish an article which “shows our math.” If you read this article you will see why we picked the teams we picked to win and why we picked the teams we picked to lose. You may not agree and that is okay. We are wrong between 10-15% of the time. It makes for fine reading and generous discussion. Enjoy the article.

We had a ton of Thursday Night action, so much that I published some “Thursday Night Picks” which I rarely do. I turned in a 12-1 on the night, perhaps I should change my name to “Thursday Night Fletch.” Just kidding. Madisonville ran its record to 7-0 for the first time since 1983 and Fort Campbell got its game with Trigg County rescheduled which was the right thing for Trigg to do as we can’t hold the kids at Fort Campbell accountable for a governmental shutdown. Hopefully, the gridlock will have been resolved by Halloween or thereabouts. Enjoy this look at the Madisonville-North Hopkins/Muhlenberg County game in this feature.

Like we have done in prior seasons, now the games are finally here, we will take the last week’s action and break it down and then look at the road ahead. We had quite the successful road trip to Elkton, KY this past Friday night and North Hopkins visiting Morton’s Gap means the sledding will get much harder; certainly not any easier. North arrives with an enviable roster which includes plenty of All-State caliber players and even a Mr. Football frontrunner if your math is correct. Enjoy this feature and get out to the games this weekend. Remember, your hometown heroes need a little help from you! See you at the game!
