Storm Warning: Isaac may prove to be the Man[ning] on the 2024 football roster… @HopkinsCentral @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @840WHAS @_CoachManning

’25 multi-phase contributor played well in ’23 and will only get better

Isaac Manning was a multi-phase contributor on the Storm’s roster in ’23 and it is believe by those close to the program he will only get better in ’24. Manning made some incredible, circus-like grabs on offense and his ability to contribute on defense was showcased in limited snaps over the course of his junior year. For his senior season, all bets are off and everyone is excited about what he may prove himself capable of doing.

Hopkins County Central’s Storm had a deceptive year. Sure, the final tally was four-up and six-down. That doesn’t quite tell the tale.

Central lost to Crittenden County on the road by five, lost at Webster by seven, lost at home to McLean by a single point, and lost to Hancock by 10, at a time when Central had already been eliminated from playoff contention and had seemingly little for which to still play.

The Storm could have been 7-3 to 8-2 as easily as it was 4-6. I won’t even broach the topic of officiating or bad calls. We hashed through all that during the year.

Isaac Manning, a ’25 WR/DB prospect, played very well to (at times) spectacularly. It is his time to be “the Man[ning]” if you will pardon the pun.

Manning…played very well to (at times) spectacularly…

Manning kind of “did it all” for the Storm in ’23. Manning completed a pass, led the team in receptions, led the team in receiving yards, and led the team in TDs receiving. Manning was among the leaders in scoring, INTs, and IRNYs.

We call that a dynamic and versatile skill set from where we come. It is the type skill set which makes it easy to target a player with all that in the player’s quiver when calling plays or designing defenses.

Chris Manning is in the middle of a rebuild at Central which has been impressive. There is no doubt Central has gotten much better and much more formidable on the football field.

Manning has upgrade the program’s talent, increased the program’s exposure, and provided many “next level” opportunities for prospects under his tutelage. The Storm just has to take that next step.

The Storm has to start winning the close games in which the program is…appearing to fall just short

What is the next step? The Storm has to start winning the close games in which the program is, for now, appearing to fall just short.

Isaac Manning will be paramount to these efforts. He will play a huge role in this continued arc of improvement and program build. Manning will, by next season’s commencement, firmly establish that he (Isaac), truly is, the Man[ning].
