News and Notes from the world of Kentucky High School Football…

This is an interesting time of year as football teams continue to prepare to put on shoulder pads in 4 days and then go full gear on the 1st of August (KHSAA, Bylaw 23). Today, many teams will converge on London, Kentucky for the South Laurel Seven on Seven tournament before many others, including South Laurel, will travel to Hopkinsville, Kentucky for “The Best of the West.”

Old Coach Lyon here will be traveling to London to watch the Bobcats from Breathitt County in its second Sevens tournament of the year, after its better than expected showing a few days ago at EKU. For a full explanation of the performance at EKU, and why it was better than we expected, hit this link.

Check back with us this afternoon and we should have some information about how players of interest performed in London, Kentucky. We can’t wait to see you then as there may be some “other” big news around Kentucky High School football to report…

The story, linked here, makes the fourth sex scandal for the school in just the past year. Man oh man, maybe it’s in the water…

This is Coach HB Lyon, reporting for KPGFootball, and we’re JUST CALLING IT LIKE WE SEE IT!
