Kiyaunta Goodwin…Monster Lineman Punches Ticket to Orlando

Here at Kentucky Prep Gridiron we typically don’t write articles on 7th graders, rising 8th graders.  In all fairness to us, we also don’t typically have 6’6″ 342 pound rising 8th graders that are as skilled and can move like Kiyaunta Goodwin.  Goodwin trains with the very elite Aspirations Gym and training guru Chris Vaughn, himself a former Notre Dame Football player (college) and physical specimen in his own right.  You can imagine Chris’ surprise to see a 13 year old dwarf even him.

Kiyaunta Goodwin has a devastating punch and sets a firm post foot and is able to kick and drag back to handle the outside speed rush and close the door, and I mean firmly, on any inside moves which cross his face.  Overall the coaches at the qualifying event seemed impressed with his agility and the one-on-one skills of the young lineman from Olmstead North Academy in Louisville, Kentucky.  Goodwin is just another example of the caliber of football being played in the Commonwealth and the type of prospects which spawned the creation of this particular online publication.

Kentucky Prep Gridiron congratulates Kiyaunta for punching his golden ticket to Orlando and the Under Armour Next All-American Game and expects he will be covered many more times as he progresses in his middle school and, soon to be, prep football career.  It is also worth mentioning that people should also check out Chris Vaughn and his Aspirations Gym as he is placing his stamp on the best the Bluegrass offers.  We don’t believe the fact that prospect after prospect appears to have ties to Vaughn is any coincidence as Kentucky Prep Gridiron doesn’t believe elite athletic skill and coincidence have much correlation.
