No doubt Glasgow’s Ke’Avian Massey is all-DAWG!
You will probably not see too many defensive linemen pass the “eye test” any more thoroughly than Ke’Avian Massey from Glasgow High. Massey is 6’3,” 245-pounds of DAWG. Massey is being heavily courted headed into a senior season where he pulls double duty as a lineman on each side of the scrimmage line. This kid is an example of how well the “Scotties” come off a bus.

Glasgow, KY: Ke’Avian Massey is a football player and really looks the part. The 6’3,” 245-pounder registered 53-tackles, a TFL, and five (5) QB-sacks a year ago in 11-games.

If we were in the regular practice of prognoses, and we have been known to be, we would predict that sacks-number (5) from the ’24 season to double this coming year. Massey has excellent leg-kick and “get off” and is able to use his height and length to gain a leverage advantage over would-be blockers.
In addition to what he contributed on defense, Massey was called upon to block up front on offense last year. While the production on the offensive side of the ball wasn’t particularly prodigious (1,520 yards passing, 1,379-rushing yards, 32-combined TDs, and 253-points scored), Massey was quintessential to the accumulation of those numbers regardless of the numbers being relatively meager.
Massey made the All-Region team as a defender. We see him as an All-State caliber player on the defensive side of the football. Massey is an All-Region caliber performer on offense, which isn’t even his primary position nor where he is projected to play at the college level.

We called Glasgow’s ’24 offensive production “meager.” That characterization may have been understated. Heck, you could call our characterization “generous” if you wish.
Two-hundred and fifty-three points scored (253), over the course of 11-games, is not very productive. Matter of fact, one might say it is how a team posts five (5) up and six (6) down in the old, won-loss ledger.
Here is the good news. Glasgow’s rebounding this coming season back to “Glasgow-like-standards,” and rebounding rather drastically, has an incredibly high chance of occurring.
The roster was young a year ago. There will be experienced players returning at many relevant (and critical) positions.
Not the least of which will be today’s feature. As a prospect, or next-level guy, Massey shows considerable promise.
First of all a program’s finding quality, two-way linemen isn’t easy. Massey has clearly proven himself to be just that at the HS level.
Where does he forecast in college? The “big boys” (or the colleges recruiting him) see Massey as a DT/DE type.
Looking over the prospect’s twitter feed, it looks like Georgetown (NAIA), Kentucky Wesleyan (NCAA, D-2), Union College (NAIA), Hendrix College (NCAA, D-3), and Wingate University (NCAA, D-2) are swarming. Massey has also fielded interest from Western Kentucky (FBS), Middle Tennessee (FBS), and EKU (FCS) all of whom are D-1.
That is a wide range of interest from all over the map. This guy has the frame, athleticism, strength, explosion, and power to play at any of those schools, at any of the listed levels.
It may just be a question of how quickly he wants to get on the field. I sure wouldn’t want to bet against him.
