Here are this week’s winners for Friday, October 25, 2019 in Kentucky HS football…

We have taken to putting more of our articles behind the pay-wall for the benefit of our subscribers only. After all, the subscribers to the site and the advertisers are the only people to whom we answer in the end. Much of the information we relate is valuable to our subscribers and advertisers which is why they support us. It wouldn’t be right, and would deny them the benefit of their bargains, to just give it away to any and everyone. Sorry, it’s called capitalism. We have forecast the winners of 65 games which will be played October 25, 2019. Let’s see how we do. Enjoy the article but only if you are a member or advertiser. Otherwise, you can begin wondering what we said about your team’s chances.

Every week we pick winners prior to the Friday night games. This week we decided to pick way more games than usual. As such we aren’t going to have the same flair as previous articles. Here are all the KPGFootball weekly winners for week -10 of the KHSAA season…

Tates Creek beats Henry Clay

Bowling Green beats Greenwood; Earlier in the year, after Greenwood beat defending 4A champion, Franklin-Simpson, and Bowling Green dropped its first game to a Tennessee private school coming off a 2-10 season, we may have picked this one differently. We are 8 games into the season now and have more body of work off of which to go.

Dupont Manual over Butler; There are darn few teams being Manual right now in Kentucky. None of them are Butler.

Ludlow beats Dayton

Fulton County over Caverna

Graves County over Muhlenberg County

Dixie Heights over Campbell County

Fort Campbell over Ballard Memorial; This game pits against the other two of Kentucky’s worst football teams. This should resemble two squirrels fighting each other inside a brown paper bag.

Covington Catholic over Conner

Crittenden County over Russellville; Remember when it was Russellville who was the king of the 1A classification on the western end of Kentucky? Well, that is not the case now.

Owensboro Catholic over Butler County; Clock-runner

Hopkinsville over Hopkins County Central; Clock-runner

Ryle over Simon Kenton

Franklin-Simpson over Warren East; Believe it or not, Warren East could win this game. These two 4-4 teams are similar in the fact neither is very good. We’re taking Franklin-Simpson because Warren East just doesn’t beat Franklin-Simpson.

Scott County over Ballard

Hancock County over McLean County

South Warren over Christian County; You could put Ft. Campbell, Ballard Memorial, and Christian County together in a caged, death match, and all three would still find a way for none of the three to come off the field a winner. South Warren runs the clock early in the 2nd Q.

Owensboro over Grayson County; These teams have similar records. Well, Grayson County, Owensboro is going to show you something about playing “Big Boy Football.”

Logan County over Calloway County; Clock-runner

Lloyd Memorial over Holy Cross (Covington)

Union County over Trigg County; Beginning of the year, we like Trigg County in this game. Trigg has lost too many important pieces to injury. They aren’t the same team they were at the beginning of the year. Cade Bleidt is having an All-State caliber season at LB, on the bright side for Trigg.

Taylor County over Adair County

Newport Central Catholic over Bellevue

Scott Eagles over Holmes

Mayfield over Murray; Murray has the talent to play with anyone. They have enough talent, particularly along the lines of scrimmage, to beat Mayfield. You know who doesn’t think Murray can win? Mayfield…and, unfortunately, Murray.

Paducah Tilghman over Webster County; Paducah Tilghman will run the clock here.

Russell County over Allen County-Scottsville

Monroe County over Warren Central; Potential upset here though as these two teams aren’t far apart and Warren Central has shown they can light up the scoreboard. Unfortunately, they may have the worst defense in Kentucky high school football history.

Corbin over Wayne County; A ton of people will take Wayne County and they will probably be favored. Corbin will win because they are Corbin.

Daviess County over Apollo

Middlesboro over Knott County Central; Middlesboro has had quite a resurgence under first year, legendary coach Larry French. Gotta love their poll respect for a stories program where they can be completely blown out twice and still appear in the AP top-10 poll. They should kill Knott County. However, Knott may give Middlesboro more problem than anticipated too.

St. Xavier over Pleasure Ridge Park

Elizabethtown over Bardstown; Ton of people taking Bardstown in this match-up. E-Town, like Corbin, wins games because they are E-Town.

Holy Cross (Lou.) over Campbellsville

Trinity over Eastern

Rockcastle County over Garrard County

Somerset over Washington County; I would hate to be Washington County and have to catch Somerset coming off a last-second, one-point loss to LCA. Sucks to be Washington County this week.

Williamsburg over Lynn Camp; Williamsburg is really rolling. Lynn Camp is struggling.

Frederick Douglass over MoCo

Highlands over Cooper; These two teams have identical won-loss records. You will see Friday night how little that means.

East Jessamine over Woodford County

Franklin County over Central; Central has struggled in 4A. Franklin County hasn’t. Enough said, thought Central could win this game. Don’t think they will, but they can.

Paintsville over Raceland; Two of the best in Class 1A meet Friday night. We like Paintsville.

Belfry over Pike County Central; Belfry travels to Pike County Central to take on a team no one expected to have the year they are having (7-1). However, this is Belfry and Isaac Dixon is no longer out with injury.

Bell County over Estill County; Estill has been on a hot-streak since getting blown out by Breathitt County. Bell County will bring them back to reality.

West Carter over East Ridge

Harrison County over Marshall County

Waggener over Shelby County

Breathitt County over Leslie County; You can throw the record books out when these two meet. Breathitt is fast and Leslie hits hard. But for a late-hit, late in the game last year, Leslie wins it. Don’t believe they will be in striking distance this year as this isn’t last year’s Breathitt.

Lexington Catholic over Anderson County; Anderson County has really struggled. That being said, they have Darion Dearinger and enough talent to beat anyone on any given night. Lexington Catholic has Kentucky’s best QB, Beau Allen.

Beechwood over Newport; Beechwood, who has lost 4 games, has found its “sea-legs.”

Pineville over Harlan

Shelby Valley over Bath County

North Hardin over Central Hardin; Hard to pick this one pitting two of the best teams in Kentucky. Either could win but we like North in this battle of the Hardins.

Whitley County over South Laurel

Glasgow over Casey County

Boyle County over Bourbon County; No body can beat Boyle as playing them makes one want to over-imbibe in Bourbon.

Bethlehem over Fort Knox

Clay County over Magoffin County

Johnson Central over Letcher County Central; If there is a team as good as Boyle County in Class 4A it might be the Eagles of Johnson Central.

Lexington Christian over Danville; This is a matchup Danville used to own. “Used-to” doesn’t count for much these days.

Male over Bullitt East

Kentucky Country Day over Eminence; Two of the best teams in the classification square off but the only team in 1A which can play with KCD is Pikeville.

DeSales over Mercer County; This is a really good game two as both of these teams are really good. We like DeSales in this one but not by a lot. Should be a good game and were Mercer County to win, we wouldn’t be very surprised.

Pulaski County over Southwestern
