Drew Burke (@SBurke1976) is Ram Tough! @racelandramsfb @ramnation45 @CoachBeek @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @1776Bank

When ever I think of the Raceland Rams I always seem to remember the Dodge truck commercial where two wild rams would head butt each other with their horns. You remember the one, “Dodge trucks are ram tough!” Then…Bam, the collision would happen on camera.

I always imagined a director said, “Cue the Bucks,” and then the two wild Rams would embark toward the other on a collision course. That is silly, I am sure it didn’t happen that way, but that is my rather curious sense of humor that I would concoct such an event.

There are quite a few around the Raceland Independent School district who are equally tough. We don’t know how many of them lower their heads and butt the other but many of them find themselves playing along one of the Raceland lines of scrimmage.

Drew Burke would fit the bill as a head banger and someone who is “Ram Tough.” Burke, who we have seen listed as both a ’22 and a ’23 prospect, is someone on whom it is hard to get an accurate handle.

Burke is 6-3 and weighs 260 pounds. He plays offensive center where he is among the elite players at that position across the commonwealth of Kentucky.

Like most offensive centers, the young man is really smart. He has a 3.5 GPA which will afford him opportunities at a lot of places.

Burke is coming off a big year. He made his All-District team and was honorably mentioned on the All EKC team.

Burke is explosive with excellent hand punch, leg-kick, pad leverage, and finishes his blocks well. He drives nose guards through the turf and locks on and runs his feet through the whistle like one would want to see from a player so deployed.

Drew’s fantastic in any graduating class

The Rams were 12-2 in ’21. They lost to Pikeville, the classification’s titleholder now six (6) times over including last season.

It is hard to pigeon hole much about this particular player means to his offensive front and his team. We love his frame, his aggression, his leverage, his drive; pretty much everything he has to offer.

Perhaps most of all, we love how this is one Raceland player who is Ram Tough! Cue the Bucks.
