We went to a recent Christian County Colonel football practice and to say ZaQuan Quarles ‘stood out’ would be understated. Quarles is listed at 6’2″ but we believe that may be a tad short and his wingspan is something about which to write an epic poem. We believe this is a kid some colleges out there should be very excited about recruiting.

LaRue County’s all-everything QB from ’21 has bolted to LCA. Where does that leave the Hawks? Well, it leaves them in need of someone to step it up in ’22 particularly under center. We believe the job will fall to Riley Hatfield, or perhaps it should. We believe Hatfield has the frame and skills to excel there and will lead the program back to its usual place of prominence. I remember a mother telling me when I was coaching that her son was a varsity football player. I told her, “Well Ma’am, he’s playing in a JV game in about a half-hour. If he’s a varsity guy he should stick out like a sore thumb in this JV game.” That is as fair of an indicator as I know. Well, I watched Pavey’s JV film and it appeared obvious to me Pavey is a varsity player. We believe he will show all of us this coming Fall. Enjoy the feature. HB.
