How recruiting REALLY works…
Recruiting has become quite the animal, if we are being honest, particularly in football. It seems, more and more, like the ability to play the actual game means less all the time. College recruiters call on high school coaches less and less in evaluating talent for their incoming classes. Evaluation […]

Recruiting…How Do You Know Who’s Really Looking at You?
The late Whitney Houston recorded a song with the lyric “how do I know if he really loves me?” The same question runs through the minds of parents about college recruiters who very often toy around with their student-athlete’s affections. We believe we may have discovered something weighty about how to tell when a school is interested versus feigning interest. That information is in this article and for the exclusive use of our subscribers. That’s why you pay us “the big bucks.” Enjoy the article and try to learn something. HB.

So you’re D-I?
We get asked (all the time) to tell this school or that whether this player or that can play at the school’s level of competition. There are people out there who possess “the eye.” If they say a kid can play at a certain level, college coaches have learned they can trust that. JT Powell and Carlos Younger are certainly two people possessing “the eye.” We talked to Powell about what one has to be, to be able to get to the next level of football (from HS to college). This article contains what he told us…
As scrimmages conclude, and the season looms, how much significance should we apportion any scrimmage outcome? (Featured Photograph: Emily Ball/Bluefield Daily Telegraph)
Scrimmage results are flying across chat rooms, newspaper headlines, and blogs all over the commonwealth of Kentucky. The winners believe it is a credible forecast of success, the losers either believe the team was trying to “not show too much” or it is a forecast of a forthcoming “long year.” Well, truthfully, neither is true. Enjoy this article about scrimmages and why the outcome shouldn’t either dampen or intensify your seasonal expectations.
