Centre Football escapes Indiana 1-0, beats Hanover 31-29. Maryville College calls, ‘Next!’ @CentreFootball @HanoverFTBL @MCScotsFootball @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank

Centre escaped Hanover, Indiana with a win. That was about as positive as we can be about a performance which gives us plenty of mistakes to study and correct. Coaches say teams experience the most growth between the first and second games, particularly in college football. Colonel fans must “pray” that rings true or we may not be as lucky outcome wise as we were with the Panthers in Indiana. Enjoy the scout. HB.

Coach Herman Boone, in the hit movie, “Remember the Titans,” once called the split veer offense like novocaine. He went on to say he only ran six plays but that the offense always worked. We can’t vouch for the six play thing, as we believe Coach Bowling’s version of the veer is more advanced than what Coach Boone ran in the early 70s at T.C. Williams High. We can vouch for it always working especially with Collin Wilson pulling the trigger for the Tigers. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Jasanté Harmon has committed himself to not permitting his program to have another season like ’21. So far, he is certainly doing his part to put the past where it belongs…in the past! Enjoy this feature about a Junior DE who appears capable of doing it all and who also seems assured of being on a ton of recruiting boards going forward. Don’t forget to pick up a few bags of our one-of-a-kind beef jerky products whenever you can and wherever you happen to find yourself. Also don’t forget to #savortheflavor! HB.

It appears high school football is moving into a ‘Saturday Night’ phase. Tonight, Bryan Station will travel to Danville, Kentucky to face Boyle County’s Rebels in the Rebel Bowl sponsored by Whitaker Bank. While Bryan Station is 6A and Boyle is 4A, tonight’s outcome may just go a long way to proving how unimportant classification is in Kentucky High School football these days. Enjoy the feature. HB.
