Destin Cheirs, when last we heard, was going to attend Murray State and try his hand at Ohio Valley Conference Football. Well, it would appear he will aim his sights a bit higher. Cheirs has the opportunity to “bet on himself” and attempt to make the Louisville Cardinals football team which competes at the FBS, Power-5 level (ACC). In the end, it was too good of an opportunity to not risk it. We love athletes who remember the “student” portion of “student-athlete.” Nehemiah Lucky is certainly one of those. Lucky sports a 3.8 GPA at Louisville’s Fern Creek High. That doesn’t mean he can’t play some ball. He was elected captain a year ago in spite of his only getting to play in 6-games and was still among the club leaders in stops.
