Caden Scott, ’28 QB, will make significant strides in ’26 and is our Bank of Cadiz featured Wildcat! @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @KatherineL58069

Caden Scott is a young, sophomore signal caller who has played a bit of varsity football in his young high school playing career. Still, his performance thus far has supported the proposition we have yet to see of what this young phenom is completely capable. There is a universally perceived leap athletes tend to experience between their sophomore and junior years. There tends to be signifiant growth and with hard work, self-confidence, and taking advantage or opportunities to train and improve, there will likely be a transitional performance out or Scott during the ’26 Fall.

Cadiz, KY

It is a locally owned, independent bank which has expanded, through the years, to locations in Hopkinsville and Murray in addition to Cadiz. The Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company has focused on community finance and dealing face-to-face with both families and small-business owners while fulfilling customer needs and the dreams of area families and businesses regardless of size or construct.

We, like our area schools, strive for high performance and finding ways to prosper in an ever-changing economic environment. The Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company remains committed to superior performance goals coupled with an exceptional quality of customer service.

’28 QB, Caden Scott was among the local, young, high school athletes who also rendered a superior performance while achieving exceptional quality this past season. What will this star QB pull off as a junior? Well, that is the reason Scott is our featured player of the week. Perhaps we can arrive at some sort of an answer.

Caden Scott has been derailed by injury over both his freshman and sophomore seasons. However, Scott earned the designation of “QB-1” both of the years.

As a freshman, Scott played in nine (9) games, threw for 818-yards and 11-TDs against nine (9) picks. Scott rushed the ball from scrimmage nine (9) times for 43-negative yards.

As a sophomore, Scott played in seven (7) games. Scott threw for 1,001-yards, eight (8) TDs, and eight (8) picks. Scott rushed the ball from scrimmage seven (7) times, losing only (by comparison) six (6) yards.

Right off the bat, this past season fans saw a more elusive QB, in the pocket, over the course of Scott’s second season at the helm of the offense. One also saw a much more productive passer, in spite of his playing fewer games, in year two over the first go-around.

How Scott progresses will factor into the development of the entire ball club. Trigg has been a club with talent but short on depth. Trigg, when healthy, has proven capable of beating most teams on its schedule.

The staying healthy part has been a challenge the last two seasons. In ’26, for Trigg County to realize its full potential, the Wildcats have to find a way to avoid the IR (injured reserve).

Davaree Gude crosses the graduation stage for the Wildcats this coming Spring. Gude has been a two-time, Big Ass Fans, Small School All-State RB.

Gude has rendered big time performances over the previous seasons. Teams don’t come across Davaree Gudes every day.

Gude is gone; Edison likely to pick up those carries

Friday Night Fletch

Deonatae Edison (’27) looks to get the lion’s share of Gude’s carries next year. Edison has talent. Edison has a varied and multi-faceted set of skills which extend to all three (3) phases of football.

In addition to his offensive skill set, Edison and Brody Calhoun (’27) figure to lead the defense next season. The pair are coming off a year where the two were (easily) the club’s most productive defenders.

Still, at Trigg, how the QB play goes; so goes the offense much of the time. How much improved will an experienced, upperclassman Caden Scott be? How much difference will a more experienced Scott make for the Wildcat offense, the Wildcat team?

This offseason, and Scott’s training commitment, will go along way in answering such questions. Make no mistake, those will be next season’s, sixty-four dollar questions. Wouldn’t you agree?
