Bardstown is sitting at 9-0 on the year with East Jessamine the only thing standing between the Tigers and a perfect regular season. We haven’t done this in a while but the opening of a new branch in Shelbyville, Kentucky is reason aplenty for such celebration. We just wrote about this kid’s dynamite performance this past Friday night but now we have decided to award it this prestigious weekly award on top of everything else. Jaden Brasher put himself in the KHSAA records books right before our very eyes. We had an agent in the press box who watched the ’23 QB throw five (5) TD passes in the first half of the game with Calloway County. Five (5) TD passes in one half of play isn’t the record, but it is among the best performances in one half of play in KHSAA history. If that isn’t prize package worthy, than what in the heck is? HB.

Giaonni Hunter has his team set for launch. The team is winning at the clip it would prefer but Hunter’s play has been a rallying point for the program and the community. Centre and Sewanee renewed what has to be the oldest rivalry in the SAA if not the entire NCAA, Division III. This newest entry in the series was an exciting one and a game where Centre’s execution began to look like it has to look for Centre to be ready for the challenges which lie ahead. Brody Hunt has his Bears right in the thick of things these days in the always tough 2nd District. Hancock, McLean, and Todd County Central are all playing lights out and Owensboro Catholic has settled into its accustomed role of 2nd District “Bully.” The team which has commonly been the “odd man out” is now playing lights out. Do the Bears have to beat the Rebels from. Todd County to get in the playoffs this year?
