He’s the top rated linebacker in Kentucky’s class of 2021 and the class’s overall top rated football player at any position. He has been setting records with his play at Owensboro Senior High School a program which has produced a few players in its day. Now, Austin Gough is killing it on the camp/combine circuit and some big-timers are clamoring for his services. Enjoy this article about a kid who will start getting offers in short order. Here is a name which has been buried on the freshman and JV rosters at Trinity High School and has slipped from many’s memories. He has always been among the best football players in the Class of 2021, since that class was in middle school, and the same is still true today. We have rediscovered Christopher Forehand Jr. during this camp/combine season and we predict he will be a household name this coming high school, varsity season. You’ve heard the saying someone is a long, tall drink of water. Well that saying seems appropriate for Daviess County’s Jon Nalley. Nalley plays left tackle for the Class 6A Panthers and is 6-6, weighing 280-pounds. He is a Class of 2021 prospect for whom we expect the recruiting trail to heat up considerably in very short order. In the end, you do whatever you want, but there is a right-way and wrong-way to promote your son as a football player. “Football parents” have an exceedingly bad reputation. Greenbrier’s Noah Batey is this Week’s Stewart Williams Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week

Before we left Greenbrier for another one of the Robertson County Schools (we’ll be back, don’t worry), we thought we would feature the big left tackle for the Bobcats. You call him “Big No. 75” and we call him Noah Batey. Batey is a next-level player whose deficiencies are fixable. What he does have in spades is a motor, large frame with plenty of length, and athleticism. He plays with his hips sunk, lowering his pad level to where an OL coach would want it. People around the Derby City felt slighted this prospect wasn’t in the top spot on the Kentucky 20 best DL, preseason list, published to Bluegrass Rivals yesterday. Whether he should have been can be argued either way. He certainly should have been on the list and he certainly was, coming in at No. 5. Regardless, Knifeley, who’s last name reminds us of one of our favorite lyrics from a song from one of our favorite all-time Rockers, is one whale of a prospect. Enjoy the article.

Here’s Mud[d] in your eye…Class of 2021’s John Mudd

You know the toast, “Here’s mud in your eye” takes on a different connotation completely when you add a “d” to the end of “mud” and capitalize the “M.” Big John Mudd, ranked the 20th best OL in all of Kentucky and 9th best in the Class of 2021, gets in a lot of eyes and it is none too pleasant we hear. This is a guy whose move to the interior OL could net him tremendous benefit owing to his present frame. However, his present frame may not be where he frames out ultimately. BoyleCo has published a list on Bluegrass Rivals detailing whom he believes to be the 30 best OL in Kentucky High School football. He has taken some heat for it. People, or outlets, who compose lists always take heat. However, this guy has logged 100s of hours on this list, compiling it over the last year. He did a fabulous job. Our list would look very similar. Some may have been in different slots, like Jager Burton (who we would have had higher), today’s feature. However, the 30 he listed would have been on our list too.
