It is very rare for a freshman to make much of a contribution to a high school varsity football. How about a freshman running back who averaged 9.3-yards per carry, carried it a tad under 200-times, gained nearly 2,000 yards, and scored a TD every 8.65 carries? What about that for rare? We are recognizing the inordinate freshman season of Taylor County’s Peyton Smith this week. We felt his numbers were worthy of recognition and required nourishment.
