Not everyone whom has the good fortune of playing for a winning team deserves to be recognized, at least not every week. Likewise, players whom happen to find themselves on the rosters of struggling teams shouldn’t always be overlooked. Sometimes KPGFootball and the Stewart Williams Furniture Company wish to tip the preverbal hat to the ones who strive and struggle mightily to little fanfare and, often, little gain. Take this week’s POW for instance, Trenton Tuttle. Tuttle, a Class of 2020 TE/LB prospect playing for Stetson Dickerson’s Patriot team has seen his team struggle up close and personally. The Patriots finished 1-9 in 2018, which sounds bad but consider this…prior to going beating East Robertson for its lone win this year, Coach Dickerson’s Patriots reeled off 21 straight Ls.  In spite of this played really, and on both sides of the football though his play failed to net much immediate success. However, Tuttle’s efforts has set the table for the brighter days which lie ahead for the Patriot program beginning with Tuttle’s final tour as a high school beginning this next Fall. Famed Chinese philosopher, Confucius, is credited with writing a sentiment I have also seen attributed to a guy named Nelson Henderson. The saying is applicable to Tuttle’s efforts this year.  The saying goes that the true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit…or something like that. Tuttle is working hard, as are his teammates. They are just hoping the tree takes root and grows enough for them to enjoy a bit of shade themselves as early as next season.

Congratulations to Trenton Tuttle for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player or Team of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
