We here at Kentucky Prep Gridiron have consistently covered Clarksville, Tennessee talent as part of our area largely because we are principally based in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. You may not know this but Hopkinsville and Clarksville comprise one metropolitan area in spite of one city being in Kentucky and the second laying just across the Tennessee state line. Well, we are proud to announce the law firm of Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys sees it the same way as we because they are now sponsoring a weekly article promoting a Clarksville area prep football player. Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys is a full service law firm covering all areas within the realm of general practice from domestic to criminal defense, contracts to malpractice, Will & Estates to civil and criminal matters in General Sessions. If you have a problem, they have a solution. If you feel like you’re drowning, they are the life raft. Call them at 931.645.3888 or just drop by 137 Franklin Street in Clarksville, Tennessee 37040. To Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys, we, here at Kentucky Prep Gridiron, say welcome aboard!

The first recipient of the Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys Montgomery County Player of the Week is Clarksville Academy’s, Jason Longwell. Jason played RB, WR, and SS for the Academy this past season and has the stature, at 6-0 and 183 pounds, and explosion (35 inch Vertical, 410 pound back squat, 415 pound dead-lift) coveted by colleges looking for range, quickness, and explosion for either its receiving corp or defensive back four. I suppose that is why Jason picked up an offer from Carson Newman College to become an Eagle and continue his playing career after high school just yesterday. With National High School Football Signing Day scheduled for tomorrow, we here at Kentucky Prep Gridiron, certainly believe accepting the offer from Carson-Newman College would be a fine decision. We must confess, however, we don’t know what he will do as we have learned, through sources, he may have an opportunity to attend The West Point Military Academy where he could walk-on its football team. If you ask us, it doesn’t sound as if there is a bad choice here.

Southern Athletic Conference Eagles boast one of the finest traditions in NCAA, Division II, and have produced such professional football players as Todd Collins, former NFL player and Super Bowl Champion with the St. Louis Rams; Clayton Holmes, former NFL football player and Super Bowl Champion with the Dallas Cowboys; and Sanders Shiver, former NFL football player and Super Bowl Champion with the Baltimore Colts, just to name a few. Longwell runs the pro-agility shuttle in 4.2 seconds and with his 35 inch vertical, it is a fair estimate he would run a 40 yard dash time somewhere in the 4.55-4.65, hand-timed, range. Jason’s mother was a track-star in college so he has plenty of athletic genes coursing through his veins and his father was (or, maybe still is) career military.

We are very proud for Jason Longwell to receive the first Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys, Montgomery County Player of the Week Award and also look forward to our partnership with Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys as we both continue to publicize and promote all of the fine young football players the Clarksville, Tennessee area has to boast. Congratulations to Jason Longwell from The Clarksville Academy for being our Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys, Montgomery County Player of the Week!
