Centre drops heart breaker in new home; Colonels still ‘Alive and Well’ in SAA-Title Hunt! @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @CentreFootball

We lost a heartbreaker yesterday to a team to which we hate to lose. We probably don’t have a sterner rival in the conference than Berry College. Still, Centre doesn’t have time to mourn a tough loss. The trip to Conway, Arkansas is on the immediate horizon and we still hold our own destiny in our hands as we will explain in this article. Enjoy. HB.

Centre and Sewanee renewed what has to be the oldest rivalry in the SAA if not the entire NCAA, Division III. This newest entry in the series was an exciting one and a game where Centre’s execution began to look like it has to look for Centre to be ready for the challenges which lie ahead. Enjoy this recap of the Sewanee game and a look ahead to the challenges presented by Berry College. HB.

Centre Football escapes Indiana 1-0, beats Hanover 31-29. Maryville College calls, ‘Next!’ @CentreFootball @HanoverFTBL @MCScotsFootball @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank

Centre escaped Hanover, Indiana with a win. That was about as positive as we can be about a performance which gives us plenty of mistakes to study and correct. Coaches say teams experience the most growth between the first and second games, particularly in college football. Colonel fans must “pray” that rings true or we may not be as lucky outcome wise as we were with the Panthers in Indiana. Enjoy the scout. HB.

@JakeJackson2022 from @SouthWarrenFB is the @1776Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week. @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @MaxPreps @WKUFootball

Never met an offensive lineman who much relished the obligation of having to block a player like Jake Jackson. Low center of gravity, incredible leg kick, power, explosion, off the charts strength, and Jack Jackson’s being ill-humored upon arriving to the football all make him a handful. Yessir, blocking Jake Jackson was such a pain in the rear no one elected to do it all season. Enjoy this feature on a guy who is definitely an All-State caliber defensive lineman. HB.

Two weeks in a row we have awarded this award to an offensive lineman as we award it to Kentucky’s very best offensive center. We won’t apologize. These guys have been doing the dirty work for little to no fanfare for far too long. We believe this guy is Kentucky’s best offensive center in the game today. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Can’t wait to see the debate this is sure to facilitate. This should get posted on quite a few bulletin boards across Kentucky. That’s okay, it is why we are here. We are ranking, preseason, the top-five teams in each of Kentucky’s 6-Classifications. We will do this every Thursday. Today, we give you how we see the 2A classification finishing. Let the arguments begin…Ready! Set! Go! HB.

As we say farewell to another group of ballers we have covered since they played in middle school, we get to meet and update our database with an entire new class of up-and-coming stars who will play their freshman seasons this coming Fall. Many of these guys will start on Friday Night sometime during their initial campaigns. Some of these guys will start night one, snap one and we aren’t talking about on specials either. Today, we are highlighting a kid we call around the magazine a “No-doubter.” Why? Well, you may have to just read this article and find out. HB.

Local college programs mined the rich vein of in-State talent in filling out recruiting classes. Some killed it out of state too. @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @1776Bank

We saw numerous programs clean up yesterday on national signing day. We saw some Kentucky programs lure some incredible out of state hauls, and we even saw some programs from neighboring states dip their fishing lures into Kentucky waters and come away with some big time talent. Enjoy the article.
