Kris Hughes is one bad bunny. Matter of fact, we can’t find where we have before featured him and that is somewhat alarming to us. Hughes had a tremendous sophomore season for first-year head coach Clay Clevenger and he looks to have the Briar Jumpers back on the title track, if last year’s trip to the semis, and 10-4 finish, are any indication. Enjoy the feature. Friday Night Fletch.

Special @thanksgiving Day Article; Because we are so Thankful for all of you: If the ‘Mighty Mayfield’ game with LCA should come down to a PAT or FG, we know a Lincoln that would Suit[er] just fine. @MHSCardinalsFB @mhscoachjoe @LCAathletics @LCAFootball2022 @kjacoMessenger @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @kyhighs @HLPreps @MaxPrepsSpecial @kjacoMessenger

We are approaching round four (4) in the KHSAA playoffs. All of these teams left standing are very good. There are exactly no bad apples left in the barrel. It will be the “little things” which differentiate between winning and losing at this point. “Mighty Mayfield” has themselves the home field and a kicker in Lincoln Suiter who has before come through for the Cardinals in a “big game,” with the game on the line. If called upon, Friday night, will he come through once more? We shall see, but the Cardinals are confident. Enjoy the feature. HB.

We’ve been sweeping the commonwealth in search of under the radar talent to feature in a series we’re calling “Break-out Players.” Some of these players, arguably, have already burst out onto the scene while others have been skimming along just beneath the surface. Enjoy this look at a rocket on the Briar Jumpers’ roster set to launch in ’21. Enjoy the feature. HB.

In the business of covering Kentucky High School football we have a term we call “Championship Level Defense.” What we say about it is simply a Kentucky high school football team will never win a championship without playing defensively like a champion. Go back through your favorite team’s statistics and see whether you team played defensively commensurate with championship level play. What is championship level defensive play? Well, this article will tell you. HB.
